If you look at my blog often, you have no doubt seen photos of this family. I’m not going to go on and on about how special they are to me and what a treat it has been to photograph them over the past several years as they grow into a family of 5. They just purchased their dream home in Newport Beach and welcomed baby #3 (Baby “R”) into their lives, so I suggested we do something different for this newborn session. I mean, it’s hard enough getting out the door with 1 baby, so I wasn’t going to torture Kate & Peter by suggesting that they all come to my home studio for Baby R’s newborn photos :) Their home was the perfect setting for this lifestyle newborn session. I probably shouldn’t call it a “lifestyle” session because really it was more of a mixture of posed and relaxed portraits. I can’t completely ditch those adorable baby in a basket shots! I would LOVE to do more lifestyle newborn sessions and lifestyle family sessions in my clients’ homes, so please get in touch with me if this looks like something you’re interested in.

The front door to Baby R’s house was the perfect backdrop!
Baby R getting very sleepy in his crib…
I just love how big sister is petting his head ever so gently…So sweet.
I don’t know if everyone will understand the humor I see in this shot. Just looks like the chaos of 3 children in a nutshell.
I’m sorry Grayce, the baby of the family position has been occupied by someone else :0
A precious little kiss on the hand for baby brother. This belongs on the wall!
How she looks this pretty and well put together after just giving birth for the third time, I do not know!
The perfectly imperfect family portrait :)
There is a cute story about the image on the left below. Olivia (striped dress) is usually the star of any portrait session I photograph her in. During her momma’s maternity session, she told me about her idea for the next shot I should take. She detailed exactly where the people should stand and explained how the background was pretty right there. It was an adorable moment I’ll never forget- I have a little protégé! Well, she was not so pleased that Baby R’s session was going to be focused mostly on HIM and not HER. I took Miss Olivia out front for a few minutes during her little brother’s session and told her I wanted to take some pictures of her all by herself, a special little photo session for just HER. Two minutes later, along comes little sister Grayce, and that is when the image on the left was captured. Such a darling little moment. Olivia was bummed that her special solo photo session was over, but then she shows how much she truly loves her little sister in the next image below on the right. What a trooper!
